Indications
Dosage and Proper Use of Domperidone
The exact dosage of any medication is determined by a doctor, but generally, the recommended dosage for this medication is as follows:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age weighing more than 35 kg: The recommended dose is one measuring cup, up to three times daily, equivalent to 30 mL in total.
The medication should be taken at least 30 to 60 minutes before meals.
If a dose is missed
Take the missed dose as soon as possible on the same day and continue with the next doses as usual. Do not double the dose.
Do not stop taking Domperidone without consulting your doctor.
Wash the measuring cup before and after each use, and tightly close the bottle cap.
Use only the measuring cup provided in the package to measure the medication.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Warnings
Contraindications of Domperidone
Hypersensitivity to domperidone or any of the components of the medication
Children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 35 kg
Severe liver problems
History of heart failure or arrhythmia
Pituitary gland tumor (prolactinoma)
Intestinal obstruction or perforation
Warnings and Precautions
Before using this medication, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have any of the following conditions:
Liver problems or impaired liver function
Kidney problems or impaired kidney function
Use of levodopa
If you notice black or tarry stools (blood in stool), stop taking the medication immediately and contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you experience irregular heartbeat, palpitations, or shortness of breath, inform your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Drug Interactions
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are using any of the following:
Antifungal medications, especially oral ketoconazole, fluconazole, or voriconazole
Certain antibiotics such as erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin, moxifloxacin, or pentamidine
Heart or blood pressure medications such as amiodarone, dronedarone, quinidine, disopyramide, dofetilide, sotalol, diltiazem, or verapamil
Antipsychotic medications such as haloperidol, pimozide, sertindole
Antidepressants such as citalopram or escitalopram
Gastrointestinal medications such as cisapride, dolasetron, or prucalopride
HIV/AIDS medications (protease inhibitors)
Cancer treatments such as toremifene, vandetanib, or vincamine
Antacids
Apomorphine
Any other prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal medicines
